Handcrafted in our Essex workshop from one exceptionally wide slab of solid French Oak, this 2.4 metre dining tabletop has been made without joining multiple boards or slabs together.

At approximately 2400 × 950 × 50mm, finding French Oak of this width in a single piece is increasingly rare. The result is a stunning, uninterrupted expanse of natural oak, with the grain flowing continuously across the entire tabletop without a centre join or glue lines.

Both long sides retain their natural live edges, including a beautiful lighter sapwood edge that follows the original shape of the tree and contrasts with the warmer heartwood through the centre of the slab.

At 2.4 metres long, it makes a substantial 8 seater dining table, with room to accommodate up to 10 people when required.

Tabletop Only, Choose Your Own Base

This listing is for the solid French Oak tabletop only, allowing you to pair it with any suitable steel leg or pedestal base design from our collection.

The important difference is that we don't simply send you a tabletop and a separate box of legs.

Once you've chosen your base, we fabricate it specifically around this individual tabletop, optimising its dimensions and position for stability, legroom and the proportions of the finished table. We then professionally fit the base to the tabletop in our Essex workshop before delivery.

When your table arrives, the mounting points are already prepared and everything has been test fitted, making final assembly straightforward.

Every mark, grain pattern, natural edge and variation belongs to this individual tree. Unlike a tabletop assembled from numerous narrow boards, there is nothing interrupting the grain across its width.

The tabletop is prepared and finished in our Essex workshop by Sorrell & Smith Furniture Co.

Choose from our range of bespoke steel legs and pedestal bases, including X-frame, trapezium and statement pedestal designs. Our steel bases are fabricated specifically to suit the proportions and weight of your chosen tabletop and can be powder coated in matt black or a colour of your choice.
