Shipping & Delivery Policy

Our objective is to deliver all orders within 1-2 business days. Small items are dispatched through Royal Mail or Parcelforce, while larger items are shipped via private courier services.

Terms & Conditions and Refund/Return Policy

We are dedicated to our tables and want to ensure you choose the perfect one. If you have any queries before making a purchase, please contact us. We are happy to provide additional photos or answer any questions to help you make a well-informed decision.
If you purchase a table that doesn’t meet your needs, you can return it within 14 days of delivery. The return will incur a collection fee based on your location, ranging from £100 to £800. Provided the table is in perfect condition, a full refund will be processed. We will handle collections and refunds within 28 days.

For any issues after delivery, please contact us via phone or email, and we will assist you.

Due to the custom nature of our products, returns are only accepted for faulty items. Deposits for bespoke orders are non-refundable. For in-stock items, returns are accepted within 14 days, with the buyer covering return shipping costs.

Purchase Terms

Order Confirmation

An order is confirmed upon receipt of a 30% deposit payment. Any special payment terms for custom orders will be noted on the sales invoice. We begin the manufacturing process only after receiving the agreed payment. Full payment is due before delivery.
Order Details

Our top priority is to meet or exceed your expectations. During the sales process, detailed specifications will be agreed upon through various communications. It is crucial that all important details are included on the sales invoice to ensure accuracy in production.

If no special notes are on the sales invoice, products will be made according to our standard specifications.

30-Day Guarantee

All our products come with a 30-day guarantee, surpassing the requirements of The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If a product has aesthetic damage or structural faults, we will repair it or replace the affected part or component.

These terms, along with extensive photos and descriptions on our website, aim to set realistic expectations of how your natural furniture will look. Timber variations include knots, cracks, and color inconsistencies. If these natural characteristics are a concern, please ensure your requirements are included on the sales invoice or contact your sales representative before finalizing your order.

Lead Time

We provide an estimated delivery month at the time of order. This lead time depends on payment being received within 48 hours of the invoice date and current material and part lead times. The lead time is based on a complete product specification. Critical details include dimensions, configuration, edge style, material type, and upholstery color. The lead time starts once all details are confirmed.

Timber colors should be confirmed within two weeks of order confirmation to avoid delays.

Please note, we cannot offer refunds or compensation for delayed deliveries, but delays are rare.

Sorrell & Smith 2-Year Wood Movement Warranty

Natural timber products can change as they acclimatize to their environment. We take measures to minimize wood movement, but it cannot be completely eliminated. Our tables come with a Wood Movement Warranty for your peace of mind.

Wood movement typically occurs within the first 12 months of being in your home. If you notice any issues after this period, contact us with photos for assessment.

Warranty Duration

You have up to 24 months from the delivery date to notify us of any wood movement issues. After 24 months, refurbishment work will be quoted at our current labor and material rates. We recommend waiting at least 12 months before requesting refurbishment to allow the wood to fully acclimate.

Refurbishment work can take 4-8 weeks. We have courtesy dining tables available if needed during this period.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover wear and tear, staining, marking, refinishing, accidental damage, or other changes not caused by wood movement. However, we can assist with these issues for a fee. Contact us with photos for a quotation.

Non-UK Orders

For tables shipped outside mainland UK, we will honor our warranty within mainland UK. Transportation to and from the UK mainland is the buyer’s responsibility. We cover collection, remedial work, and re-delivery within the UK mainland.

Cancellations

If an order is canceled after production has started, Sorrell & Smith Ltd may retain up to 50% of the order value, depending on the production stage.

Postponements

If you need to postpone delivery, inform us as soon as possible. If materials are ordered but production hasn’t started, we can store them at no charge. Once you confirm your readiness, allow 8-12 weeks for production and delivery.

If production is complete but delivery is postponed, we will store the finished product at no charge. However, fully assembled tables cannot be stored, and wood movement may occur. If necessary, refurbishment will be conducted under warranty, which may result in material loss.
