This large live edge dining table is crafted from a single, ultra-rare 50mm thick Pippy Poplar (Mappa Burr) slab, measuring 240cm x 100cm. Gold epoxy resin has been infused into the natural features to enhance the intricate burr patterns, wild grain, and organic live edges, while adding both strength and bold visual contrast.
Each piece is individually handcrafted by artisan Sam Sorrell in our workshop in Wickford, Essex, using traditional woodworking techniques — no mass production, just care, skill, and exceptional craftsmanship. It seats 10 people comfortably and suit both modern and rustic interiors.

Why a single slab is so rare
Unlike a tabletop assembled from numerous narrow boards, there is nothing interrupting the grain across its width. It is this combination of scale, uninterrupted grain and natural live edges that makes a genuine single-slab table such a statement piece.
We don't send a tabletop and a box of legs.

Handcrafted in our Wickford, Essex workshop from a single, ultra-rare slab of sustainably sourced European mappa burr (pippy poplar), this 2.4 metre dining tabletop shows burr patterns and swirling grain across its whole width.
Gold epoxy resin has been infused into the natural features of the slab, adding strength and highlighting the character of the wood. The surface has been hand-sanded to a silky finish and treated with premium oils to enhance the natural tones while providing lifelong protection.
The live edges vary naturally from about 90cm to 110cm wide, averaging 1 metre. At 2.4 metres long, it seats 8 people comfortably, or 10 with one at each end, and suits both modern and rustic interiors. It is a statement centrepiece designed to bring warmth, character and timeless beauty into any home or interior space, and will make an unforgettable centrepiece in any dining or meeting space.

The important difference is that we don't simply send you a tabletop and a separate box of legs.

The tabletop is prepared and finished by hand in our Essex workshop by Sam Sorrell and our team, with no mass production and no robotic machinery.
Choose from our range of bespoke steel legs and pedestal bases, including X-frame, trapezium and statement pedestal designs. Our steel bases are fabricated specifically to suit the proportions and weight of your chosen tabletop and can be powder coated in matt black or a colour of your choice.
You can also pair this tabletop with one of our timber bases.
No mass production, just care, skill and exceptional craftsmanship.
