Handcrafted in our Essex workshop from a single, hand-selected slab of English Elm, sustainably felled in England, this 2.1 metre dining tabletop is not made from multiple planks or bookmatched boards. Based on its dimensions, the tree is estimated to have been well over 150 years old. Formed from just one continuous slab, it is not only rare but also highly desirable to collectors and discerning buyers alike.

The tabletop has been buffed and polished to a smooth, natural finish and coated with hardwax oils for durability and grain definition, with the natural live edge preserved. Discreet steel reinforcement bars on the underside allow for natural seasonal movement while preventing warping. This traditional-meets-modern method ensures the tabletop stays perfectly flat and stable, so this rare slab lasts for generations.

At 2.1 metres long and approximately 1.1 metres wide, it seats 6 people comfortably, or 8 with one at each end: perfect for family gatherings or as a statement dining table.

Tabletop Only, Choose Your Own Base

This listing is for the tabletop only, allowing you to pair it with any suitable steel leg or pedestal base design from our collection.

The important difference is that we don't simply send you a tabletop and a separate box of legs.

Once you've chosen your base, we fabricate it specifically around this individual tabletop, optimising its dimensions and position for stability, legroom and the proportions of the finished table. We then professionally fit the base to the tabletop in our Essex workshop before delivery.

When your table arrives, the mounting points are already prepared and everything has been test fitted, making final assembly straightforward.

The tabletop is prepared and finished by hand in our Essex workshop by Sam Sorrell and our team, with no mass production and no robotic machinery.

Choose from our range of bespoke steel legs and pedestal bases, including X-frame, trapezium and statement pedestal designs. Our steel bases are fabricated specifically to suit the proportions and weight of your chosen tabletop and can be powder coated in matt black or a colour of your choice.
