This large live edge dining table is crafted from a single, ultra-rare 50mm thick Pippy Poplar (Mappa Burr) slab, measuring 240cm x 100cm. Black epoxy resin will be infused into the natural features to enhance the intricate burr patterns, wild grain, and organic live edges, while adding both strength and bold visual contrast.

Once completed, the table will look similar to this one we previously made, but with the distinctive tone and character of Mappa Burr.

Each piece is individually handcrafted by artisan Sam Sorrell in our workshop in Wickford, Essex, using traditional woodworking techniques — no mass production, just care, skill, and exceptional craftsmanship. The finished result will seat 10 people comfortably and suit both modern and rustic interiors.

This rare slab is listed for pre-order due to its uniqueness. Once finished, this table will make an unforgettable centrepiece in any dining or meeting space.

This luxury solid wood table is created from a single, rare slab of sustainably sourced European Mappa Burr, chosen for its highly decorative grain, natural figuring, and distinctive live edge contours.

Unlike mass-produced furniture, this live edge poplar dining table is crafted entirely by hand – with no robotic machinery – preserving every natural feature of the tree. Black epoxy resin is expertly infused into the wood to stabilise natural voids and enhance the contrast and depth of the beautiful burr patterns.

Measuring 2.4 metres in length and 1 metre wide, this large Mappa Burr dining table comfortably seats 8 to 10 people. It's a true centrepiece, ideal for family homes, entertaining spaces, or creative workspaces. The table is hand-sanded and finished with natural oils or hardwax to nourish the wood and protect it for a lifetime of use.
